I have thousands of reason for never going back to Cuba; at least a genuine democratic change was made in the island. This is one of the reasons.
One of my sisters has been living in Germany for twelve years. She got married with a German, and now they are proud parents of my nephew, a little German boy. My sister has been going to visit our family and native country yearly along the last ten years to keep in touch with them and our culture. Her last experience in the country made me so angry, that I have decided to tell it to my friends, specially my not Cuban friends, who ask me often when I will return to Cuba.
My sister decided with her husband to tour around Oriente, (the eastern side of the island), because she never had the possibility living and being a Cuban, without money and resources to do a such travel in our own country. They also brought with them my other nephew, who is five years old now, son of our sister who lives in Cuba.
Cuba has beautiful places that Cuban people never will have the possibility to visit at least they got enough dollars to do it. Before Raul Castro took the power, the reason was the government did not allowed Cubans go into hotels, now they " can do it" making $15 or $20 dollars monthly. How?
Anyway, my sister, her husband, my German nephew, and my Cuban nephew went to Holguin where they wanted to visit in Key Saetia (Cayo Saetia) a natural dolphin park. They said it is one of the so much beautiful keys around the island, a real paradise. They needed to take a boat to get there, but the authorities did not allow her, and my Cuban nephew to go into, because their cuban nationalities. Both were born in Cuba, even if she is a German citizen as well. The German ones could have access (her husband and son), but not the Cubans. Definitely, it was a big mistake to have born in that point of the Caribbean.
What can I feel about a government that hates and segregates its own people?. How a such hypocrite government accuses other countries of lack of freedom, democracy and authoritarianism?
This is the reality of Cuba that you guys, when go as tourists, or in an official visit to the island never could see.
They have an embargo against its own people!.
The ones who still believe in the dream of the Cuban revolution, the advances in health care, and education, it does not exist anymore. That is an old story.
And who is responsible for this situation, for the alienation of own Cubans?. Cuban regime and the Cuban supporters will say; the only responsible is the American government. Please...!

It is very easy to be a communist living in democratic countries, with credit cards, freedom and respect for human rights. For us, Cubans, it does not matter if we get a citizenship from a wonderful country that welcomed us somewhere in the world. This government has taught us that be Cuban will be always a sin.
Can you understand why my answer is always I do not. I will go back only when all Cubans live in a democratic country and were respected as equal to any foreigner. Cuba is a country where we, as Cubans, are worthless.
